Molly`s purpose: I am trying to get Ryan to like France better than Mexico.

Ryan`s purpose: I think Molly should like Mexico better than France because  it is  hot and you can swim in the ocean.

Molly`s opinion: I strongly believe France is better because it has so much history to it. Additionally, France is so beautiful!

Ryan`s opinion:  I think  Mexico is better than France because you can wave surf.

Molly: I believe France has the best food – it is  always fresh.

Ryan: Mexico has amazing beaches, and has the best tacos with fresh meat.

Molly: It is the perfect place to have a walk in the city.  For example, some sights include the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, and  The Pompidou.

Ryan: Mexico is hot and fun, and you can make statues and paint them.

Molly: France has historic, beautiful buildings.  More importantly, famous artists chose Paris to paint because of its beauty.

Molly`s Concluding statement: As you can see, France is one of my favorite countries because it has fabulous museums, fancy food, great architecture and beautiful gardens.

Ryan`s Concluding statement: I think Mexico is better because it is a great place for a summer vacation.

Molly: Did I convince you?

Ryan: Yes!

Welcome to back school! I am so exited that school has started again! Now I am in third grade. I am so excited because  all my BFF’s are in my class, and my teacher is Mrs. Fordyce. She is super nice. This year we are learning about bridges.

This week at school is Spirit Week. Monday was sports day. We got to wear our favorite sports team T shirt. Tuesday was superhero day. Wednesday was mismatch day/crazy hair day. Thursday is pajama day! We get to wear our pajamas. Friday is color day. 1st grade gets to wear orange clothes. Kindergarten gets to wear red. Second grade gets to wear yellow. Third grade gets to wear blue. Fourth grade gets to wear black. Our staff gets to wear white.

My crew is the best. They help me and they care for me and I care about them too. It has been the best year ever! I even got to meet some knew people. We got to do math together, reading together and playing together. My favorite thing is that I got to meet knew friends. I love my friends more then dessert. My crew means everything to me. My friends and my family are the best in the whole world. My crew is kind. My crew will always the crew!

What do you like about your friends?

My mom is the best! My mom means every thing to me. My mom has dark brown hair, brown eyes and glasses. My mom is so good at cooking and cleaning. I like to have girls day with my mom, and I like when my mom comes to my class on Tuesdays. My mom hugs me and kisses me goodnight. My mom comes to all my dance performances.

What do like most about your mom?

At my school second graders and first graders are reading to get money from our sponsers to help people in Tanzania. Second graders got to spend time with Okaidja. We learned  African singing, dancing and drumming. Okaidja is from Ghana. Ghana is in Africa. Okaidja is good at drumming, dancing and singing. The stories of Anansi the spider are from Ghana.

Do you know how to do African drumming, dancing or singing?

I like to play a game called fish off water with my friends. It is a game you have to play on the play structure. It is like tag but you have to have your eyes closed if you are it. Someone is it so you have to run away if they come close to you. If the person that is it tags you then you are it. If the person that is it says fish out of water when you are on the ground then you are it. If you play fish out of water you have to have 3 or more people.

What do you like to play?

My friend Claire had her first communion. My friend Henry also had is first communion. I went to church to support my friends. Every body was fancy. After it was done we went to brunch. It was fun watching my friends.

Have you been to or have you had first communion?

My favorite food is Mac and cheese! I like mac and cheese. My mom makes mac and cheese for lunch and dinner. I like mac and cheese so much. My friend Emily likes cupcakes. My friend Cam likes pancakes.  I like pancakes too. My mom likes French fries. My brothers favorite food is pizza. My dad likes burritos.

Ingredients

• topping:
• 1 tablespoon butter, melted
• 1 cup panko bread crumbs
• 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
• mac and cheese:
• 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 3 tablespoons flour
• 3 cups whole milk
• 4 cups grated cheddar cheese
• 1 pound elbow macaroni (you can also use campanelle, cavatappi, or shells)

In class,we are doing the Africa Bridge reading challenge. Our goal is to get all the kids going to school, and every one can have a desk. We are reading to get money by asking people to sponsor us. That money goes to Tanzania. In school we do something called market place. Third graders make things to sell, and we get to look at them and buy them. The money  goes to Tanzania.
